November

11/01/2014 – Saturday
5m, 0:42, 20′ – Dripping Springs, Mazama
First real run in a month and a half. For sure I went out to hard, but I had to see if I still could.

11/16/2014 – Sunday
7m, 1:36, ~2700′ – Tiger
First run with my friend Ben and another of many runs with my friend, Nate. I’m ridiculously out of shape. But it’s good to be back on the trails.

11/18/2014 – Tuesday
3m, 0:25, ~400′
Could this be the start of a training cycle?

11/19/2014 – Wednesday
6.5m, 1:00, ~900′ – CH
Back in the saddle and the saddle is hard. It’s my usual urban Capitol Hill loop.

11/20/2014 – Thursday
5k, 0:27, ~350′ – CH
Three days in a row? What is happening to my body? Why am I hurting – everywhere? I only ran 3 miles! Thank goodness tomorrow is a rest day.

11/21/2014 – Friday
Rest
Well, yeah, now that’s more like it. I should probably hydrate myself with a nice cold tasty beverage.

11/22/2014 – Saturday
9.5m, 2:08, ~3500′ – Squak
Ben thought the run was slow. Nate and I thought the run was fast. Can you guess who’s the fast runner?

11/23/2014 – Sunday
5m, 1:03, ~300′ – CH
I don’t remember anything about this run other than it was not at “race pace”.

11/24/2014 – Monday
Rest

11/25/2014 – Tuesday

We cut our planned run short.

10k, 0:53, ~950′ – CH
One last run before the Thanksgiving gorge of 2014.

11/27/2014 – Thursday
Thanksgiving

11/28/2014 – Friday
Travel day to Mazama

11/29/2014 – Saturday
10m, 1:22, ~600′ – Mazama
12″ of snow and 15 degrees (f) does not make for a good trail run, so I took to the road (which still had bits of snow and ice) with my new trail shoes to see what I could do. It was cold. The water in the exposed tube of my bladder froze within a half hour. One pair of thin tights was not sufficient to stay warm. There was a 10mph headwind when I got out to the meadow and there was no tree cover to block the wind. I still ran. And I felt decently good.

11/30/2014 – Sunday
